“Tell me what you eat and I will tell you what you are.”
Tzatziki! Only 5 Ingredients and 5 Minutes!
I’ve always been rather vocal about the fact that I’m not really big on long lists of ingredients, and when I say ingredients I mean those crazy preservatives and stabilizers you find in a lot of store-bought foods. My basic rule of thumb is that if you can’t pronounce it or spell it you probably shouldn’t be eating it.
I was discussing this topic with a friend the other day and to quote him directly… “The reason they put so many preservatives and s*#t in there is that people don’t finish the jar in one sitting… and why? ‘Cuz it tastes synthetic and (real) food is gone the minute it hits the table…” I love it when someone gets what you mean!
I believe that almost anything you can buy in the store with their really long, and in my opinion kind of gross list of ingredients, can be made at home AND that it will taste better AND be healthier with very little effort!
I make my point visually today with this very brief video on the making of tzatziki… the music is pretty cool too 🙂
